It is never too early for a mother to begin reading to her child. We know that more than a quarter of the first 1000 days will occur before the baby is born, and the health and habits a woman develops during pregnancy will be foundational for the ongoing wellbeing of the child. The baby will begin to hear their mother’s voice from about 25 weeks of pregnancy so will learn to love the sound of being read to even before birth.
Our focus will be children’s books, both in board book style and with paper pages so that little ones can experience books in their different forms. We would love a wide range included in our selection - see below for some ideas of favourite authors and titles.

Ways to contribute to our library:
- Source any preloved children’s books from your collection in excellent condition and post to us or arrange local drop-off.
- Purchase books new and post them to us or arrange local drop off.
